Ben Dew’s Clubhouse Grill: Your Destination for Comfort Food in Tacoma

After PT on Wednesday we met up with a relative who is up from TX. Even though the parking lot was packed we were able to get right in and be seated. We were greeted as we walked through the door and seated immediately. Water, coffee and ice tea was served right away and then we placed our meal order. I ordered chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs, country potatoes and sourdough toast. Ray ordered the farmer’s omelette with country potatoes and wheat toast. Richard ordered the loaded hash browns and white toast. Our breakfast came out fairly quickly. The toast came with homemade strawberry freezer jam. My sourdough toast was the nice thick homemade slices. Richard and Ray had ordinary sliced bread. My chicken fried steak was huge and thick and looked delicious. Unfortunately, my entire breakfast was cold. Ray and Richard both said their breakfasts were hot. I guess I was the lucky one. I would have sent back my breakfast. but we were on a time frame as I was meeting a client for a Sheena experience so I sucked it up and dealt with it. I had enough left over to take home. So did Ray. While my cold chicken fried steak had good flavor it was much better when I reheated it at home. I did say something to the manager as we were leaving. I complimented the flavor of the meals and the service, which was excellent. I was informed the new cook is young and still learning to coordinate food items so nothing sits and gets cold. We have eaten there before and had good meals. This was the first I had a problem. It was not a deal breaker. I will go back!!

Five of us, 12pm, sat in 5 minutes, very busy. Excellent coffee, Biscuits and gravy, plus eggs, plus hash browns was my plate. Oh soooo good! Service was good and made our visit enjoyable. We will revisit soon!

The restaurant is very nice. 6 of us in our group. Seated right away. Service was good. My only thing is that I specifically asked for an extra side due to knowing that I’ll need it. Ther waitress expressed that she’d put extra on. When food arrived I then had to wait for her to get me the side I asked for in the beginning. Food cooler then when my side. A simple added jesters and it didn’t happen until I had to ask her again KNOWING I NEED IT

This place is great! We’ve been here a few times all for breakfast except this time it was dinner. The waitress was nice, but she was handling the entire bar and seemed a little overwhelmed. If we go back it’ll be for breakfast for sure!

This place is a gem hidden in plain sight! They have 2 large dining areas, room for large parties that you can reserve. They have a large bar and an deck out back too. They serve a plethora of food options including breakfast all day and a special fried chicken dinner on Sundays if you order ahead. The staff is always friendly and take good care of you. A lot of people congregate here to watch sports and have a great time. The food is cooked to order and has so far been delicious each time we've visited. This is your next level, neighborhood diner and I'm happy that it lives in my town. Thanks for reading and Cheers!

Have been coming here with my grandparents and extended family since I was a kid as it was a family favorite. Recently came back on two separate occasions and I can for sure say this place is a gem in Tacoma and probably my favorite restaurant! EXCELLENT food, strong drinks, good coffee, and great service all at a good price point! Can’t wait to try more on the menu!

Varied menu, great food, lots of choices. Senior discounts in several entrees. Denny's x Lodge feel, a bit dated but great service & a separated bar area, but not loud or distracting to restaurant patrons.
